How does it work?
I keep this process simple and – working with me is easy! If you’ve never worked with a product photography company before no worries – I’ll guide you through the process, listen to your needs, and offer suggestions to help make your products look their best
1. Contact Me
No need to fill out any lengthy order forms, I’ll write up the order for your approval. You can reach me by visiting my website. Tell me about your project and I’ll provide a quote right away.
2. Ship me your products
Pack up your products and ship them to my Indianapolis studio. It’s a good idea to try and select the best products you can, trying to avoid dings, dents, and scratches. Of course, pack each item securely so they don’t get damaged in transit. Enclose your contact information inside the box so I can let you know when your products arrive. Be sure include prepaid return shipping labels, so I can return your products as soon as photography has been completed.
My shipping address:
Todd Taulman Photography
3544 Rock Maple Dr.
Indianapolis, IN 46235
3. I will photograph your products in my studio
When your products arrive in my studio I’ll contact you to let you know. Once I have your products on-hand, I will go over the details of your order and discuss with you any questions or concerns you may have before I start. Once I have collected your payment details and you give me your approval to start, the fun begins and I’ll start shooting your photos!
4. Instant online download of completed images
Once your photos are ready and meet my high standards for delivery I’ll post them in a private online gallery here on my website where you can view and download them immediately. I will keep your photos available online so you can come back and download them any time. If you’d like to make any changes or additions (additional charge may apply) let me know and I’ll make them before shipping your products back. When the project is complete, I’ll carefully pack up and ship your products back to you. Shipping fees will be included on your invoice or charged to your UPS or FedEx account.
Affordable pricing with quantity discounts
Hiring a product photographer doesn’t need to cost a fortune. I shoot product photography all day, every day so I'm able to keep our rates reasonable. I don’t turn away small orders, which means you can actually hire me for as little as $20. If you have a larger order, that’s great! I'm able to shoot larger projects more efficiently and I can pass this savings onto you.
My pricing is mainly based on the size of your order and rates drop significantly for large orders.
What is Included:
High Resolution Files:
All of my images are delivered as high resolution 300 ppi(pixels per inch) jpg files, perfect for use in print or on the web.
All photos are captured at a minimum of 18 megapixels. Optionally, we are also able to deliver a higher resolution for demanding resolution needs such as large prints and product packaging.
Each photograph goes through careful retouching prior to final delivery. I examine and adjust color and brightness levels to ensure the proper tone and vibrant exposure. Noticeable dust, lint, or scratches are expertly removed.
All products are photographed on a white background with no shadow or reflection. Shadows can be added for an additional $1 per image. To add a reflection and shadow it is an additional $3 per image.
Cleaning and Prep:
Prior to photography all products are cleaned and prepped to provide you with the best possible photography of your product.
Online Storage of Your Product Photos:
Upon completion of your project, your photos will be accessible through a private, password protected gallery.
All photos are kept online and available for download anytime in high resolution for a period of 3 months.
Upon final delivery, the photography is licensed to your company for use on a royalty-free basis. This means you are free to use the photographs in any of your publications as many times as you like, with as wide a distribution as you like, without ever having to pay me another cent. I do retain the copyrights for delivered photos and the photographs may not be re-sold to any third party.
I like to provide my clients with a quick turnaround for their photography needs. Normal turn time is four days, depending on the amount of work in studio at any time. Please ask about current work schedule.
I accept credit card payments. For projects under $200 full payment will be processed when placing your order. For all other projects your card will be charged 50% to start and the balance on delivery. I can also send out payments through PayPal, if you so choose. For larger clients, I do offer accounts with a net 30 and an additional discount for payments received within 21 days.
I also accept payment by check or money order. Please make checks payable to:
Todd Taulman Photography
If paying by check I require the full amount to be paid prior to photography.
I can photograph just about any size product. For products larger than 2' on any one side there is a oversized product fee of $5 per image. Please note I am not available to shoot lifestyle images such as kitchens, bedrooms, etc. I can shoot the individual products, but not the room settings.
My standard pricing above is for individual items. Let me know the details of the group and I will provide you with a quote based on the complexity of the group shot. Larger group photos are quoted at a higher price due to additional time needed with setup and editing.
Shiny - Metallic Surfaces:
Due to the complexity of shiny or metallic surfaces these products may incur an additional fee and will be quoted prior to photography.
Due to the complexity of jewelry, there is a small fee associated with any jewelry of an additional $5 per image.
Need your product photography quick, no problem. For a small rush fee I can provide your product photo within 2 days of receiving the product. Charged $10 per photo, minimum rush charge $50.
Do I need to be in Indianapolis to have you photograph my product?
You don't have to be in Indianapolis to have me photograph your project, just within the United States. I am not currently accepting projects from clients outside of the USA, sorry.
What if I would like an image re-shot?
I want you to be happy with your photos! If I’ve made a mistake I will gladly re-shoot or edit the photos to make them right at no charge.
Re-shoots for artistic or editorial reasons, or resulting from client error or omission will be quoted at a discounted rate.
Do you charge per photo or per product?
My rates are quoted per photo. For example, if you have five wine bottles and would like the front and back photographed for each then your project consists of ten photos and you would be quoted the 6-10 photo rate for a total of $180.
What are your prices?
Pricing is pretty straight forward:
1-5 photos: $40 per photo
6-10 photos: $38 per photo
11-20 photos: $35 per photo
21-50 photos: $30 per photo
51-99 photos: $25 per photo
100 or more: $20 per photo
